Founded in 1982
Gilbert Foodservice is one of the largest independent food brokerages in the country.
We started out with just one client and have steadily grown across multiple foodservice industries across the Carolinas and Georgia. We attribute our growth and success to our longstanding partnerships with clients and our commitment to ongoing analysis and innovation.

1982
Gilbert Foodservice is Founded
Gilbert Foodservice is founded by Gilbert Moore as an independent broker headquartered in Charlotte NC. At this time Gilbert had one customer.
1995
Gilbert acquires four food brokerage companies.
Gilbert acquires four food brokerage companies which leads to expansion into the SC market. Many of the employees from the companies Gilbert acquired came to work for Gilbert.
1988
GFI moves to new coporate location.
Gilbert purchases a new 10,000sf office building in a prime Charlotte location. The building was completely renovated to include a state of the art test kitchen, meeting spaces, warehouse and cold storage. The new building also allowed Gilbert to hire additional employees to support the growing business.
2018
Gilbert expands into Georgia.
Gilbert expands it’s foodservice broker business into Georgia supported by five seasoned sales managers and a newly remodeled office space.

Continued growth and innovation
Headquartered in Charlotte, NC, Gilbert currently has over 30 experienced professionals serving the Carolinas and Georgia.
